This hand forged sterling silver ring pendant has been meticulously carved with concentric zebra stripes, oxidized and highly polished to bring out the extraordinary detail of the carving process. A natural black lava stone bead has been inserted by a process of drilling and riveting the wire inside the chunky ring of 2 mm thick sterling silver wire to create a tactile necklace that feels as good as it looks. It hangs from my own design of hand crafted bail which has a hammered finish and is stamped .925 on the reverse. The pendant is mounted on a 450 mm sterling silver trace chain and measures 16 mm wide and 26 mm long including the bail.

This unusual and beautiful pendant is packaged carefully in a decorated gift box.

Lava stone is a natural matte black gemstone that forms when globules of molten rock are spewed from an erupting volcano and then quickly cool. Tiny bubbles trapped within the rock form holes and pockmarks on the surface of the gemstone, giving it its distinctive tactile feel.
