The String of Hearts starter kits are made up of a small wheel thrown pot, three string of heart cuttings (ceropegia woodii) ready for planting, some compost, and some instructions for planting, caring for and taking cuttings to grow more strings.

The pot is thrown from a buff sandy coloured clay and glazed in a pale white to clear matt glaze which shows speckles from clay. The base is left unglazed and shows the maker's stamp.

The packaging is attractive to make a nice gift. The strings should be fine in the packaging for up to two weeks. I try to use fully sustainable packaging but because the compost and strings are damp, I have used two small plastic bags. The pots have been fired using an electric kiln that runs on renewable energy.

Each pot is unique so sizes and glaze appearance will vary slightly.

String of hearts make great Valentine's Day present. These kits are designed to be a fun way of growing your own houseplant. The pots are small enough to fit on a narrow window ledge or picture shelf. They look great on a pile of books on a shelf with the strings growing down.

String of hearts (Ceropegia Woodii) are really easy to look after. They are happy anywhere and are easy to take cutting from and regrow.
