An original large artwork of a section of tree trunk of a Macrocarpa type of Cedar. The source wood came from a wood yard in North Devon from a tree planted there by the Victorians.

This version is printed in Aqua Blue as the print reminds me of waves and the sea.

Available signed and numbered out of a limited artists edition of 20. Each version is slightly different as the amount of ink, pressure and paper orientation varies a little with each as they are individually printed.

The overall image looks like a map of an island with apparent contours, rivers, hills and coastline but is of course an exact replication of the tree rings and grain of this piece of this log sliced at its a particular point where it was cut.

Handprinted using sustainable inks and archival Japanese paper size 103cm x 76cm. Supplied as either a bare print rolled up in a protective tube or in a black or white frame as shown at £39.50 extra (plexiglass in place of picture glass). This woodblock can also be printed in black (see separate listing) or many other colours - just ask me.
