This is a study of popular herbs all in a row.

Cook’s favourites - Rosemary, chives, Bay, mint and thyme, chosen for their decorative appearance as well as the delicious scents and flavours. All hand embroidered with individual strands of embroidery threads, and the pots using scraps of felt contrasting and complementing each other.

The stitched piece measures just over 6cm by 4cm and the overall item is 14.5 x 16cms. It was photographed in natural light without the glass for clarity but remember that colours do vary from screen to screen.

The frame is a smart black narrow wood which sets the image off nicely. With the glass in place and a hook on the reverse it’s ready to display.

An excellent gift for a gardener, a cook or both!

I noticed one day that our herbs are all in different pots which are quite...er...eclectic, but all serve their purpose perfectly. The herbs don’t seem to care what the pots look like and the cooking is always uplifted with their scents and flavours.
