Inspired by recent events, folktales and, of course, birds, my ceramic Caretaker Birds emerged. Each with their own personality but sharing the wish to bring joy and spread wellbeing.

Beaty understands about the quiet moments, being yourself and how happiness is found in the small pleasures. Holding an acorn inspired cup, where can you get such a thing?

Sharing family characteristics, the Caretaker Birds mix well but remain fiercely individual. He looks a little like a crow.

Coming in at 13cm tall, Beaty has a sack and blackberries at its feet.

Made by hand in my garden studio in Sheffield.

I am keen to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible, and I reuse packaging material but not at the risk of damage in transit.

Teacup in hand walking round the garden – it’s not about the work, planting, weed removal or pruning, its listening to the birds and insects. Feeling the wind on your face, just being there in that moment. And drinking tea.

I think it's a good reminder that it's not about what we have done, being busy or running around. We also have to remind ourselves to be still and look around us.
