Item details

This unique piece of glass was collected from Crosby Beach, near Liverpool. Unusually, this has come from a piece of reinforced glass, and the wires are still visible within when the piece is held up to the light. There is also a fascinating ripple texture to the surface.

It's a remarkable piece of history, as unlike most seaglass we know where this piece comes from. Crosby Beach was a known dumping ground for rubble cleared during the WW2 Blitz raids on Liverpool. Much of the rubble was transported to the states, and formed part of the foundations for East Manhatten, but enough was left for beach combers like me to still find it.

The piece is 4cm long, bound in sterling silver, and presented on a sterling chain.
