I'm always so inspired by the leaf shapes in my garden.
This leaf shape began as a quick study of mange tout shoots!
The background paintings were originally 2, created in a loose, abstract way in a playful session on a Mindful Writing Workshop. Whilst lovely in their own right, they weren't going anywhere so I decided to cut them up to use as background colours for these leaf shoots.
I think they work much better like this, with the leafy shoots sewn on top!
The final touch is the sewn border, done on my sewing machine.
