Inspiration for my crochet brooches came initially from a pattern by Lyubava Crochet who designed a large brooch in mohair yarn. Loving the circular nature of the design with its swirly loops I experimented with my favourite crochet thread and a fine hook and this small neat version appeared!
The thread colour is chosen from the button design. This button reminded me of a pumpkin with the stripes running up the sides. Inevitably this called for a pumpkin coloured thread and this one matches the lighter shade in the button to give an overall cheerful effect. It would be the ideal gift for an autumn birthday.
