Item details

This is a hand knitted scarf made using 4 ply or fingering yarn which has been hand dyed in green. The yarn is a semi-solid shade so a close inspection will show a slight shading between apple green and greeny yellow. The yarn itself is a wool and nylon mixture which has a lovely softness.

It is knitted in a lacy design called Branching Leaf set between borders of moss stitch and measures approx 14 cm wide x 166 cm in length.

The scarf comes boxed ready to give as a gift or to keep it in during the summer months.

The scarf can be gently hand washed, spun (inside a cotton bag or pillowcase) and dried flat.

My scarf inspiration always starts with the yarn - in this case a semi solid apple green hand dyed yarn - lightweight as it's 4 ply or fingering yarn - soft and strong as the wool is blended with nylon for strength. I knit one full skein of yarn (about 400 metres) as far as it takes me so each scarf is unique. When I choose the stitch to use it's inspired by the yarn itself so the lace design is Branching Leaf to reflect the green colour. Truly a joy to knit.
