I was inspired to create this piece whilst attending a mental health facility at my own request.
I completed this painting during very very dark times in between long and painful therapy sessions. I would see a specialist during the day and then find myself in the art block in the evening. I wouldn’t know how I got there or how long I was in there,ide just paint and paint and paint.
There is some truth in the saying that the word pain is at the start of paint for a reason!!
I used it as a form of Art Therapy before realising what Art Therapy really was and how it could help me.
When I look at this painting I see darkness followed by hope.
