I can thank my friend Cathy for inspiring me on this one. 'You must make bees!' she said. But I was a bit nervous about making all those fragile little legs and got more interested in the traditional beehive shape instead. So as a compromise I put a little stripy bee inside the lid, and it became a honeypot.
I glaze them with a mix of 'topaz' and transparent glazes, which runs beautifully into the ribs on the outside. The final colour depends on the location in the kiln and how hot it gets.

A handmade honey pot shaped like a traditional beehive or skep. Where the bees go in and out there is hole which means you can leave the spoon in the pot. Lift the lid and you'll find a little bee inside.
