One for sorrow - two for joy.
This particular storage pot is made from a curtain sample of a denim blue background with a white diamond pattern. The scene is a magpie perched on a telegraph pole while his friend is flying to join him. The appliqué uses offcuts from upcycled wool clothing and has been enhanced with free motion machine and hand embroidery. So very freehand.
The pot is lined in another curtain sample of a cream and dull yellow pattern and the base is a plain blue which was another furnishing fabric remnant.
As I source fabrics whenever and wherever I found them, I’m not always certain of fibre content.
Size: 15 cm high by 11 cm diameter
I am a self taught textile artist who works mainly in recycled/upcycled fabrics to make home wares and accessories
The inspiration for this was to use up those lovely scraps of fabric which I can’t bear to throw away, whilst creating something functional but fun. We all need storage pots, or even just as something to make you smile.
