The art of collage can be interpreted in many ways. For me it is the bringing together of selected pieces to remake a new 'whole'. Each piece had its own beginnings and by juxtaposing the parts they become reinvented.
Never broken....but an integral piece of something new.
This collage was produced by printing foliage from the garden and various shapes and objects around me, using a gel plate, to amass a sheaf of papers. The colours are produced from a mixture of natural pigment inks, acrylic paints, gouache and drawing pens.
The pigment inks can be used to produce the palest hues but in this image I have indulged in using them at their full strength, producing a vibrant and rich colour scheme.
