We are so lucky to be able to see Hares from our bedroom window, not often, yet what a wonderful treat! I have always been Hare obsessed and find their form, their way of moving, their speed and their mystery totally fascinating and magical.
Sometimes when we are out walking we will come across one of two Hares and watch them lolloping up the quiet country lanes or dashing across a field, almost too fast to see! These wonderful beings always create in me such a deep feeling of gratitude and love.
I created the original piece working with the stunning Polychromos pencils onto a crisp, white cartridge paper. The Limited Edition (350 run) A4 print is a professional scan of this original and is printed at Giclee standard onto high quality Arcoprint FSC, acid free paper.
I carefully package (using recycled or eco friendly materials wherever possible), post tracked and insured using Royal Mail and follow up to ensure you have received them in pristine order.
Always fascinated by Hares, not only their physical presence and grace, but also the amazing stories, myths and legends about them across the world, I was super excited to co create this piece, sitting for hours and hours connecting with their wonderful mysterious energy and allowing them to assist me with my pencils onto the paper. In this piece he is very alert and watching, something they are so good at and something I have learnt from them for myself.
I love the texture of their fur coat too, the waterproof top layers along the top of their backs, is course and dense and darker. They gradually get lighter as you go closer to their sensitive tummy area, often almost white. I love the dark markings on the backs of their ears and their fluffy tails. Huge back paws with such powerful back legs allowing them to move like lighting!
Long associated with the Moon and her energy the Hare is a symbol of fertility, of feminine energy, of magic and prosperity and abundance.
