Description

Porringers were widely used in the 17th and 18th century. They were bowls used for more liquid food like porridge, stew and soup.
They usually had 1 handle, some virtual like this one and others horizontal.
The shape of this one is based on a 17th centery slipware porringer from Staffordshire but decorated with stamps and rolled clay more like medieval pottery.
Anyway, this one is Hand thrown stoneware and finished with oxides and green transparent glaze.
Approximately 6 cm high and 13.5 cm diameter.
