I began drawing a 21st century version of 'The Owl and the Pussycat' a couple of weeks ago. Not until I'd finished it and did some research, did I realise that it is 150 years since Edward Lear wrote this poem. ....Serendipity.
Suitable for toddlers, children and big kids, like me. A timeless poem, featuring everything the Owl and Pussycat will need for their journey, with a few modern additions...
Edward Lear was a skillful landscape and ornithological illustrator but his greatest success came with his nonsense poems and illustrations. When I was little, every other Saturday we would go to the local library, and every time, I would renew my borrowing of his 'Book of Nonsense'. I recently managed to find a copy of the book...
