Wooden goblet from Epping Forest Silver Birch with a silky smooth bowl, elegant stem and stable base - this one is virtually unbreakable. There is something marvellous about drinking wine from a wooden vessel - no one can see if you're a cup half full person! I've just finished this one having started it years ago and left it in the cupboard in the workshop to fully dry out before finishing - I do this with lots of my things because the green wood goes oval as it dries out and I decide to re-turn it circular. This one was left on the back burner for more time than usual. It has a rich gold colour with some very pretty knot markings that are more of a caramel brown throughout the wood and the grain is a flowing waterfall pattern, all very attractive - it seems to glow. We use goblets like this one several times a week and our home made wine tastes excellent from them. Easy care - wash dry use and repeat...
