Item details

This fish is made from layers of different glass with embedded wire to enable it to bend slightly and float in the air. The piece is then fired in a high temperature kiln. Holes were drilled into the wood and wires pushed in. The log was sanded slightly and a hole created for the glass candle holder.

My inspiration came from the shape of the wood and my love of nature, the colours of fishes are a delight to use in glass. The eye is a reactive glass with silver foil.
