Greeting card featuring a mistle thrush bird, which looks very similar to a song thrush but is much larger in size. The card is blank on the inside so can be used for all occasions.
7x5inch size, made from entirely recycled card stock which leaves slight speckling visible in the card. Comes with a Kraft brown envelope, but no cellophane card wrap as I am keen to keep plastic packaging down (plus they are just so fiddly!).
Each order is tied with twine, wrapped in recyclable tissue paper and finally packaged in strong kraft paper - so all materials can be recycled or reused whilst keeping the cards safe in the post.

I originally wanted to design my own Christmas cards, using alternative bird and plant subjects to the traditional ones of robins and mistletoe, whilst also drawing attention to bird species at threat with declining populations.
The mistle thrush is a much larger member of the thrush family than its cousin the song thrush, and can be very possessive of sources of food such as rowan trees, holly bushes and clumps of mistletoe – its Latin name Turdus viscivorus means ‘devourer of mistletoe’!
The mistle thrush has been added to the Red List for conservation concern, joining four other thrush species (redwing, song thrush, ring ouzel and fieldfare) on the list as its population has been declining since the 1970s.
