Item details

This small square notebook is made of rich brown leather and ties up with a dark-edged ribbon. There is space to slip a small pencil inside and would be a perfect notebook to keep in a handbag or coat pocket. It is sewn up with strong cream South African wool that was given to me by a WI Member who was having a clear-out. The little book measures 9 x 9.5 x 3 cm and comes in its own handmade gift box. Each book I make is unique, numbered and signed (this book is number 2,170).

This leather was one of my last pieces of the most beautiful brown speckled leather from an almost new MultiYorke settee that was salvaged from the big flood of 2012 in Southwell, Nottinghamshire. This piece was a side panel from one of the cushions and still has its lines of stitching holes at the top and bottom that give the book a lovely rounded feeling.
