I love the northwest of England especially the coast around Lancaster and Morecambe.
The inspiration for this painting is the historic Walney lighthouse, which stands guarding the entrance to Morecambe Bay.
The washing line is a bit of artistic licence, but I did think it must be a perfect place to dry a line of washing.
