I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and I have been making images inspired by the views and buildings that I cycle and walk through daily. I like to use and combine various printing techniques and also enjoy the blemishes or mistakes that sometimes occur. In this image I particularly like the creases the once folded map has made in the printing ink. The map is vintage and has been previously used and so carries its own memories and history. The map includes the centre of Oxford and streets as far as Summertown, Headington and South Hinksey.
The image could be framed to include the outer map border or to hide it.
Hertford Bridge, commonly called the Bridge of Sighs (because of supposed similarity to that in Venice), joins two parts of Hertford College over New College Lane. Viewed in this case from Catte Street.
