This geometric play mat or quilt would appeal to those looking to enjoy the summer weather in comfort. The bold stripes contrast the navy polka dot and accented in bright yellow make the geometric design pop. The navy and yellow are also very gender neutral so idea for a gift when you don't know what your getting! I made this with a heavier lining upcyled from a old jumper so it's great to use outside and won't blow away this will also make it a cosy blanket for night time. I have tested it's washability as I do all my quilts and it washes wonderfully. My own daughters blankie is still going strong four years on.

My daughter is all about learning at the moment and sees shapes everywhere, so on a oh so exciting outing to Asda we were seeing the car park marking s and looking at the tesselation of triangles and rectangles.... Well it inspired me to make this from a t- shirt I loved of Cassies and a mini rugby shirt she had looked adorable in. I'm sure other people's inspiration is more profound than that !
