The painting is initially created making marks with dots which is often how I begin my work. I use a drawing pen and then use a mix of watercolour and gouache depending upon the intensity of colour I require. The paper is substantial to reduce any buckling of the paper while painting.
The size of the paper is 38cmx30cm with the image centred on the paper.
This work is an original image painted and signed by the artist.

During the early years at Greene King, I had my first truly public exhibition. The exhibition was at a National Trust property in Suffolk. The venue was sensational, the private view was memorable and the follow up of five weeks of engaging with strangers about how they personally experienced the work was astonishing. The work caused much irritation to some people but more often curiosity. This brief period was a huge learning curve in which I learnt to value the silence and be silent and let the works themselves become the thread that invites mutual engagement, expansion, and exploration with others who offer a different story.
This small piece of work “story telling” has its origin in the story just told. JH
