Item details

Bright sparkling green is blended with glitter gold, yellow and orange to create fresh, striking pieces of jewellery. The square pendants and earrings are decorated with stylised petals, evoking Australian native flora.

The 3 cm square pendant is threaded on a 46 cm (18") leather necklace with a silver-plated extension chain. The earrings are 2 cm square.

All the clay pieces of these pendants and earrings have been cut from my own handmade canes, which I slice and lay out to create random patterns. No two pieces are ever the same! Once the pieces have been constructed and fired, they are sanded and painted with a semi-gloss varnish.

This blend of colours is my homage to the ever cheerful jonquil. I live in Wales, where daffs and jonquils grow as if wild. When they start flowering in early February, I know that spring is on its way. The colours of the Jonquil canes lend themselves well to my Australiana range, with its stylised petal shapes evoking Australian native flora.
