Item details

Bright yellow, orange and green are blended with glittering gold polymer clay to create fun, vibrant pieces of jewellery.

The pendant is constructed of an oval base on which are layered four oval discs, all set slightly off-centre to create texture and movement. It measures 3.6 x 3.8 cm, and is threaded on a 46 cm (18") leather necklace with a silver-plated metal clasp.

The earrings feature a circular disk set on an oval base. They measure 1.3 x 1.8 cm and are set with silver-plated posts and scroll.

All the clay pieces of this pendant and earrings have been cut from my own handmade canes, which I slice and lay out to create random patterns. No two pieces are ever the same! Once the pieces have been constructed and fired, they are sanded and painted with a semi-gloss varnish.

This blend of colours is my homage to the ever cheerful jonquil. I live in Wales, where daffs and jonquils grow as if wild. When they start flowering in early February, I know that spring is on its way.
