Story of the lamp...
Couple of years ago I was on holiday in Warsaw. I was strolling in Warsaw's old town and saw some men emptying furniture and household items into a skip.
They were emptying an apartment that must have been owned by some pensioners, because everything looked like it was bought at least in the 60s
One of the items they threw away was a beach wind blocker, in a nice fabric bag. I looked at it and thought that, perhaps 40 or 50 years ago, the couple, who once lived in the apartment had their best holiday hiding behind the wind blocker and kissing secretly.
I took it and here it is... Some stranger's past now lives in this lamp.

Other that that it's made our of soft wood and I made the shade from an old book my neighbour wanted to throw away.

There are two common factors with every lamp i make. First of all, it's the story behind a piece of wood or a piece of material i have used to make it.
The other thing is that fact that as much as I can, I use old materials. Old pieces of wood, cords taken from irons, switches saved from discarded lamps etc.
I will only buy things if I can't find a second hand item.
