This Oak bench is inscribed with 'Rest a While' on the backrest but we can bespoke a bench for you if you prefer.

They are perfect to finish off your lovely garden or as a gift to celebrate somebody's life or special occasion.
Our benches can be inscribed with a message, of your choice, on the backrest or have a plaque added to help remember the occasion of its commission.

Our benches are created from slabs of Oak, cut to thickness using our own mill then allowed to season slowly and naturally in the fresh air for at least 2 years. The slabs are then cut to shape and planed flat leaving pieces of wood that still have all their natural beauty.

The Oak slabs are then crafted in benches, no two being the same, each displaying the beauty of knots and twists in the grain. The edge of the wood is left as nature intended to give a wonderful natural curved edge to the piece.

Each bench differs in length slightly but they are usually around 4ft 6 inch to 5 foot long.

Fixings are stainless steel and the Oak is finished with 3 coats of Danish oil unless requested differently.

These Oak benches will give many years of service with no need for any maintenance or painting.

The 'Rest a While' bench is ready for immediate dispatch, bespoke benches usually take about six weeks to complete.

We started making these benches for local Woodland Trust sites as memorial benches. The bench ' Rest a While' was made for a photo shoot but is for sale.
We make the benches to order, the 'Tony's Tree' bench was made for a customer, it can be seen here in his garden after delivery. It has been inscribed with 'Tony's Tree' as this was bought by a lady for her husband who has a passion for horses (a 'Tree' in this case being a reference to a horses saddle)
