The inspiration comes from my sketchbooks. I love to draw especially in black lines often with a black Uni-ball eye, Mitsubishi pen. I love the risk I take with the pen, the fact that you can't easily erase it. I draw when out and about, things I see and notice, people, plants, still life. I draw in museums and galleries; I draw in the garden, I draw when I see a bowl of flowers, I draw anything that catches my eye, I love the shapes I can create with line on paper and line on porcelain, I also love cross hatched lines and use them to create different tones. I am very attached to my children and their pets and this plate reminds me of the emotional bond felt by family members and animals. the pride felt by the child shines through.
