Teal fused glass adjustable pendant necklace

Teal fused glass adjustable pendant necklace

Love this

This beautiful handmade glass pebble style pendant is striped with the colours of seaweed and the sea which, together with an incredibly smooth tactile surface, make it the sort of pebble you might dream of finding on the beach but never will...

The large fused glass pendant is a teal colour with stripes of olive green, white, aquamarine and turquoise. The smooth satin finish glass pebble has a hole drilled through it and hangs from a long waxed cotton cord in a toning tan colour, soft and comfortable to wear. Two sliding knots fasten the cord and enable the length to be adjusted to fit.

Each colourway of my pebble pendants is a limited edition, and each pendant within the edition is different from the next, making this a truly unique piece of jewellery.

Teal striped pebble fused glass pendant, created by me in my studio on the Wirral peninsula, NW England.

The pendant is 3.5cm (1.5") wide at the widest point, and 5.5cm (just over 2") long.
The blue waxed cotton cord is 2mm thick and 72cm (29") long. The cord is fastened with sliding knots so you can wear it at a length which suits you.
The pendant will come with a signature gift box.

These pendants are born of my love of sea smoothed pebbles and sea glass. I make them in 'limited edition' series, seldom repeating a colour combination, and each individual pendant in a series is different from the next so you really are getting a unique piece.

I create the pendants by fusing together many layers of glass in my kiln to create a slab of glass; then break this slab up into chunks and fire these again in the kiln, sometimes once, sometimes a few times, to create a series of glass pebbles. Each kiln firing takes up to 24 hours, so you can see the amount of time and work that goes into each piece.

Once I'm happy with the design of each 'pebble' I sandblast the glass and fire it one final time in my kiln to give it the lovely tactile smooth satin finish.
