Aristotle named the butterfly “Psyche” which is the Greek word meaning “Soul”. In Ancient Rome butterfly’s appeared on Denarii, their (coins) alongside the head of the god Juno.
Butterfly’s are associated with transformation and reputedly have the ability to easily pass between this world and the next.

I like all my pots to have stories.
All the creatures on them have folklore, hidden meanings, ancient mythology.
