The gas tower in Reading is a local landmark and a prominent feature on the skyline. It is soon to be demolished and there is a local community art project to commemorate its demise. I started by making a series of monoprints and, as usual, wondered how I could incorporate them into my handmade books, and this is the result.
These concertina books are always popular and great fun to work in. This paper is thicker than some of the commercially available concertina books and so will withstand a certain amount of wet media work.
