Thanks for visiting. Look out for my Floating Boat Shop as I travel the canals during the summer months in my narrowboat 'Little John'. Follow me on Facebook www.facebook.com/makeitshipshape to find out where I am or visit www.makeitshipshape.co.uk to find out more.
For storing glasses and other things in your narrowboat galley or saloon. Designed to be screwed to an internal cabin wall with a standard 1 in 7 inward slope. Height 400 mm, width 300 mm, depth 125 mm. Made from 15 mm thick pine boards. A piece of dowel stops things slipping off when you hit the bank! Treated with three coats of Danish oil which darkens the natural pine just slightly leaving a silky moisture resistant and matt finish. Strictly NOT for a vertical wall.
Mr Shipshape says: "Making larger traditional style narrowboat shelf units like this was my 'thing' and people would order them in different sizes. My smaller workshop made this difficult and I thought - oh well, I'll give up making them large and to commission and just make them smaller as I was all jigged up to turn them out quickly. Unfortunately, smaller doesn't mean cheaper as the cost is in the labour. This will be my last ever set!"
