Cheery and colourful little hooked rag rug wallhanging/small rug measuring 31 x 22 x 1.5 cm. Hand hooked on a hessian base with strips of a wide selection of mixed recycled fabrics, this little gem has two hanging sleeves with wooden dowels for easy hanging on your wall. (If you prefer to use the rug flat, the two wooden dowels can simply be removed from the sleeves).
As this is a unique, one-off piece, I have signed the reverse with my embroidered initials.

This was my first A4 sized mini rug, inspired by the colourful banners carried by the "Sardines", the Italians protesting against the rise of the far-right in their country. Since I finished the rug it has taken on another significance with the rainbow used to show support for our NHS during the pandemic.
I had such fun playing with the bright rainbow colours in the making of this. The texture of the rug and the colours are actually more vibrant than the photographs can convey.
