Narrowboat side table

Narrowboat side table
£60.00 2 Available
Love this

The trouble with narrowboats is that you can't push a table close up to the side especially if you have a box for pipes and wires running along the skirting board. But you can screw this side table to the hull side under the gunwale and you will have a nice piece of furniture always in just the right position. Because it is hinged you can lift it to sweep underneath. The side table is 415 mm high, 630 mm wide and 320 mm deep. At just over a foot deep I don't think it will intrude too far into the boat and would be ideal next to your favourite chair. I was given the unused vintage cabriole legs made from beech and had this wonderful piece of flawless pine for the top. It's a very solid piece of furniture. The top is 28 mm thick solid pine and I have fixed the legs on very firmly. I've stained it mahogany to bring the beech and pine into harmony and given it a good coating of gloss polyurethane so it will be very durable. It has a lip to stop things sliding off when you hit the bank.

Mr Shipshape says: "I must admit I've had trouble presenting these for sale. I have a matching pair!! I've carried them around in the boat shop but they are quite hard to get out and display when I am at a floating market or on the towpath. They are made for a person who really wants them for a specific purpose. I've priced these as realistically as possible but am open to offers so don't hesitate to contact me."
