Narrowboat Double Windlass Holder
Description
Will hold two standard canal lock winders as shown in the photograph. Designed to be screwed to an internal bulkhead or vertical cabin divider. Height 400mm, width 120mm, depth 85mm. Made from 20 and 16mm thick pine boards with a hardwood spigot for the windlass socket (this varies in shape). Finished with Danish oil which gives a clear matt moisture resistant finish allowing the wood grain to be seen.
Inspiration
Mr Shipshape says, "Keeping track of one winder is hard enough, if you've got two I'm not sure how you can cope. Lose a windlass, expect a ginormous row. Even if it's your fault you are going to blame someone else. I know, I've been there. Screw this windlass holder where you can see it and if there are not two hanging on it when you leave the lock, go back and have a look around. One or both will always be trying to escape that crazy boat of yours!".
