A signed, original piece of felt art.

Handmade in the UK.

SUMMER FIELD

This piece has various shades of blue and white wool and Wensleydale locks for the sky and a machine embroidered sunset.
Multiple shades of green and brown wools form the landscape along with machine embroidery to create the rows of hay in the fields.
Metallic threads add a shimmer effect.

Made using wool from our flock of North Country Mule Ewes (please see my about section for more information) along with Merino wool and silk fibres.

This picture was made by alternating many layers of wool then wet felting followed by needle felting and finally free motion embroidery. A technique that takes many hours.

This original signed felt art is presented in a white frame without glass.

On our farm I have a favourite field that I like to walk to and sometimes sit in to observe the seasons as they change. This piece comes from a sketch I made one hot early July day. Our neighbouring farmer had been hard at work haymaking, the grass had been cut, rowed up and left to dry in the sun.
