Here are two chair/sofa covers which can be made in your own choice of colour to fit your furniture..
These examples were made to fit the width of my sofa (3 seater) but can also be used to cover a chair- or made specially for it. They could also be used at the end of a bed as extra warmth for feet or as a cover for legs in a wheelchair.
I have used 2.5 inch wide strips from my scrap box for the blue one, but I would make them in fabric colours of your choice. It has a polyester wadding core and a canvas reverse to prevent it slipping and to ensure it is sturdy enough for animals to sit on. This example has been quilted using all kinds of words. My children's names, our pet's past and present, places we have lived. You could have the same type of quilting or a repeating pattern of your choice.
The second is made using a set of fat quarters that were gifted to me. It is backed and bound with a small print cotton from the Downtown Abbey range. It also has a wadding core but the quilting is two lines of wavy stiches along each strip.

I was asked if I could make a sofa cover for a mans sofa to protect it from his dogs claws. These were the result.
As the blue one was to be a sampler, I used fabrics from my stash and allowed my children to use the longarm quilter to write names/sayings to hold the layers together.
The second one I quilted with a design from my sewing machine.
