The cutest pair of white Cotton Baby Shoes hand sewn using repurposed vintage cotton fabric with pastel coloured hand embroidery. These are reversible, plain on the inside and with the embroidered pattern on the outside. The fabric used is from reclaimed sources but is as-new, checked and laundered, then sewn by me with cotton thread.
The base fabric is a waffle woven sturdy cotton, cool for spring and summer babies. Elasticated around the heel to help keep them on wriggly feet!!
Ideal gift for newborn baby, baby shower or just a lovely pair of baby shoes for your own
baby. The shoes measure approx 4.25 inches or 11 cms on the outside. There are two similar pairs listed made from the same source, this is Pair A

The pattern I use is the Wayfarer Shoe from Twig & Tale patterns. This company design their patterns with the repurposing of fabrics in mind, and having seen some of their ideas, I am inspired to use repurposed fabrics where I can.
There is a lot vintage embroidery pieces available, some not even used, as during the 50's and 60's girls were encouraged to do embroidery and then many pieces put away and out of fashion. It seems that now, with the resurgence of 'Vintage' a lot of this work is now re-emerging to be enjoyed and appreciated by another generation.
