This lampwork glass mindfulness bead is called 'Purple Rain'. It is deep purple, almost black in colour, the purple spots have flame silvered but lavender purple remains under the raindrops.

It measures 20mm across, excluding the bumps, so sits comfortably in the hand or it can be secured on a length of black waxed cotton worn around the neck which I supply with it to use, or not as you wish.
All my beads are kiln annealed and thoroughly cleaned and checked, I put them on a longish length of waxed cotton cord which is knotted so you can either keep the bead with you or remove it for convenience.

NOTE: This bead glass contains precious metal so may not be suitable for use whilst having medical scans.

What are mindfulness beads?

Mindful beads are ideal to distract you from worrying moments, help with difficult decisions, keep concentration, relax and if you are trying to give up a naughty habit such as smoking, keep your hands busy until the need passes.
These beads are designed to be moved and revolved in the hand, feeling the bumps, looking at the colours and thinking of...well....nothing other than the bead! I found it helped me relax if I breathed deeply and evenly, trying to shut out the noise of life and the pressures and demands of everything and grounding you in the moment.

I send these beads in a little mesh organza bag so you can keep them safe.

I often make beads for jewellery in bumpy designs, and I found myself rolling the beads in my hand, which I discovered was quite relaxing. I made myself my own mindfulness bead when I developed a cancer and found that it kept me focussed on what I was being told and distracted from the investigation, discussions and treatments; other people have told me that their beads I had made for them had the same calming effect.
Each of my mindfulness beads were created using colours that described the bead and often gave it a name, I felt joyous creating them!

This is a glass bead and glass, being glass, does not like being bounced on the floor or knocked against things, it could break or chip, creating sharp edges. If you do accidentally break the bead, please contact me!
