Beautiful zoological print of flamingos (phoenicopterus roseus) standing and feeding in a salt lake. First printed in 1885, the artwork was created by Archibald Thorburn who was a Scottish artist that specialised in wildlife, painting mostly in watercolour.

The print is 1990x1145.

I love vintage zoological drawings from old journals and books, especially relating to marine biology. I really like this print displaying flamingo behaviour in their natural habitat.

The orignal was quite faded and dilapidated, but with some work I hope I have brought out the colour intended by the original artist.

Many of these works have not been seen outside the science community and I hope that it will be recieved well by broader range of art lovers
