Traditional Scottish whisky drinking vessel handmade from Laburnum from Berwick-on-Tweed area. Amazing grain pattern with that wonderful tiger's Eye colouring. Feels silky smooth to handle and perfect for those glorious Single malts. Comfortable handles and a great size!
These shallow two handled wooden drinking bowls were first known from the Gaelic during the 16th century and have been popular ever since!
Measures 9cm diameter at the bowl and a total including handles of 15.5cm, 3cm high.

These vessels are traditionally made from Laburnum and as I had been given some, thought I'd have a go. Good fun and tricky but quite labour intensive. I'm definitely making more though as I think the results are exquisite but it is all in the grain pattern, the wood used, how I use it and then only if it co-operates! And before all of that it depends on what that log of wood is like when I split it open - does it speak to me and this time it did...
