Wheel Thrown Cute Stoneware Bird Feeder

Add to basket

This is a Bird Feeder that I made on the potters wheel in stoneware clay. When it was dry at leather hard I built a flat back onto it to allow it to be wall mounted. In it's workable state I impressed cute flowers, butterflies & a ladybird. I also impressed 'Tweet, Tweet, Tweet into the clay. On the base of the bird feeder I signed the piece by impressing 'by les'. I painted the designs with coloured underglaze.
Firing in my electric kiln was the next step at a low temperature. Following this, I dip glazed the piece and fired the birdfeeder at stoneware temperature 1240 degrees centigrade.
This would be the perfect gift for bird / nature lovers.

Perfectly frost proof, also dishwasher safe, although hand washing is always best to prolong the glaze shine.

size: Height 10.5 cms x 12 cms x 7 cms depth approximately

I will rap the piece very carefully , sometimes in recycled packing materials to help the environment.

I will post the item on receipt of payment.

Thank you for taking a look in my shop.

I love watching the birds in the garden visiting my bird feeder and thought I should share this treat with other nature lovers. As not everyone has a tree in the garden, I designed this for wall mounting, hopefully bringing nature closer to people.
