This handcrafted lariat necklace blends glitter red and pale pink polymer clay to create a fresh, elegant piece of jewellery. The brown waxed cotton cord threads through a circular torus, which hangs from a circular disc. Both pieces are backed with a layer of glitter red polymer clay. The ends of the cord are finished with spherical beads. Sliding knots in the cotton cord allow you to adjust the length of the necklace.

Dimensions:
The necklace is threaded on 2.2 m of brown waxed cotton cord.
At full extension (i.e. with the knots tightened to the disc), the threads hang about 63 cm from the shoulder.

All the clay pieces of this necklace have been cut from my own handmade canes, which I slice and lay out to create random patterns. No two pieces are ever the same! Once the pieces have been constructed and fired, they are sanded and painted with a semi-gloss varnish.

The necklace will be wrapped in tissue paper and placed in an organza bag, ready to gift or keep for yourself!

The design for this necklace was inspired by my own love of lariat necklaces. I find fidgeting with the beads on the end of the cords very satisfying ;-) The design is simple but elegant, to allow the pattern and colours of the polymer clay to stand out.

The blend of colours is inspired by one of my favourite summer treats: strawberries & cream. Bright red for the strawberry, glitter red for the seeds, and pale pink for the cream. Jewellery that's good enough to eat!
