CERAMIC - Vase Tower
My Ceramic towers have been made using red earthenware clay. They are covered in white slip and then I have drawn my design freehand on the piece. The Sgraffito technique has been used and then many more glazes added to create a layered painterly feel.
It’s all about the weather with these... moody, cloudy, stormy with rain.

Inspiration
Originally the vases had conventional flat edges but a slip of the knife in the studio meant I had a great big dent. To solve this I turned my unfortunate slip of the hand into turrets!
