A wonderful traditional toy turned from Lee Valley Park Ash and Epping Forest Beech, the black line decoration is burnt on by friction so is permanent. Great fun for all ages testing your skills of eye hand dexterity and learning all the techniques for getting the ball captured on the spike at first throw! Believe me it can be done, all in the hip swivel, smooth throw with the ball and a still hand and before you know it success! Take it to a family picnic or gathering, the pub, a party, after dinner games around the dining table or just your own fun.
This pocket size model measures 16cm long with the ball on the spike and the ball is 4.5cm in diameter.
Each one of these excellent toys is different to the other. The decorative circles are burnt in by friction and are natural and permanent. The wood all comes from the same logs and there are wonderful natural variations in the grain of each one...

II've always been fascinated by traditional toys and games, ever since as a child seeing Peter Breugal's painting of Children & Games painted 500 years ago! Bilboquet is an ancient Innuit game though almost simultaneously their were Chinese developments, the Egyptians had their take on it and so forth across the globe - it seems we've always had a sense of fun and the need to relax with simple pleasures.
I love making these excellent little toys that need no power except your own, everyone can join in and they'll become an heirloom passed through generations in years to come...
