100% alpaca yarn, mill spun from fibre grown in the fields of Suffolk. DK weight in a variety of natural colours. Yarn sold in 50g balls.

Alpaca yarn is beautifully soft and easy to work with. It is perfect for items that you would like to wear close to your skin as alpaca is naturally hypoallergenic.Ideal for baby clothing, blankets and luxury accessories.

The length of yarn per ball differs in each colour choice, as different alpaca fleeces process in slightly different ways when making yarn. The average length is 115m per 50g ball.

All of our handmade accessories are carefully washed before they are sent out to customers. We package items in tissue paper within recyclable carboard gift boxes. We include photo cards of the alpacas that helped to make your items. We are very happy to include anonymous notes for valentines day. Thank you for visiting our shop!

We select the best fibre from our alpacas to send to a small specialist mill in Norfolk. We work closely with the mill to get the best from each of the fleeces - deciding which weight of yarn they will suit and whether we want to blend the natural colours or keep them separate.

As our alpacas get older their fibre can start to get coarser so we may decide to change the weight of yarn that they suit or use their fleece for felting. We look for alpacas that produce beautiful soft handling fibre with genetics that give longegivity to their fibre quality. The fibre on the farm ranges from about 18 micron to 26 micron in diameter. Fibre under 30 microns can be worn next to the skin without it feeling itchy. Our DK yarn is made using fibre that ranges from 18-23 microns.
