Useful when you have a part drunk bottle of wine, this wooden bottle stopper will seal in the freshness until next day.

It’s turned from Sycamore, with a hygienic washable insert that goes into the bottle neck.

It can be washed in hot water with washing-up liquid, I wouldn’t recommend putting it in the dishwasher as the high temperature and pressure can cause the wood to swell and crack.
It’s finished with food safe oil and all you need to keep it in pristine condition is give it a rub over with your favourite oil.

Having some red wine left in the bottle, I tried to get the cork back in. after trying for a while all it ended up doing was cracking the cork and having bits falling into the wine.

A solution was needed, I came up with this. I turned the top from a piece of sycamore I cut down when clearing overhanging trees at a railway I volunteer at. A silicon/plastic bottle neck seal was added and bingo! It fits straight in but is tight enough to keep the air out.
