The story behind the pendant is the amethyst shard - I wanted to create a pendant using the centre stone; and the design developed organically around it. I knewI wanted to include the central weaves and the outer swirls just naturally formed.
Often my designs are influenced by what else I am doing at the time; usually is listening to music or even having a show running in the background. I use the background sound as an inspiration I guess. The wire wrapping just forms itslef naturally; in a similar fashion as a painter creates a masterpiece; so my hands create the patterns that inform the final object.
A pendant of this size and intricacy requires a number of hours to complete; andit is not just due to the indiviual wraps of the wire; but sometimes I need to put the item down to decid on a final look.
