Even thought I was born and bred in the city I spent a lot of time as a child visiting relatives in the countryside.
The real life chocolate box country cottages fascinated me. The tiny houses with thatched roofs, I found it hard to believe they kept the rain out, festooned with rambling roses. Their front gardens with their cavalcade of colour left a lasting impression and have inspired me to make this unique brooch.
